Hello
I'm Kelly and welcome to my Public History project. I hope you have enjoyed exploring it as much as I have enjoyed making it. My interest in US History is a little too broad to confine my attention to a particular period or theme, but if I had to pick my top three, they would surely be: American culture and society, classic film studies, and Black History. I implemented a little love for each topic through this project with my love for art, design, and media.
My Story
As a California State San Marcos graduate student, I plan to develop my thesis on the new minority suburban experience and how this experience is or is not accurately portrayed in films and television media. I plan to bring this to life by way of video essay. I am currently brushing up on my suburban cultural history.
I hope to become a history professor at a community college in the near future, while my long-term goal is to make museums more engaging and dynamic through the implementation of technology. I am currently working as an Academic Co-ordinator for Cal-America Education, a language school in Los Angeles.
